Wheat Field with Cypresses
£16.00
Van Gogh painted this golden field at Saint-Rémy in the summer of 1889, while staying at the asylum there. Ripe wheat bends in the wind beneath a sky of rolling cloud, and a dark cypress rises like a flame on the right. He called cypresses as beautiful as an Egyptian obelisk, and this is one of his most celebrated landscapes.
